Jenny Pery Artist

Jenny Pery is an Artist and Art Historian who combines her art work with writing on Arts and Artists.

Jenny's semi-abstract landscapes derive from sketches made on travels around the world. Painting in oil on canvas or working as a printmaker with inks and presses, she abstracts from the drawings made in numerous sketchbooks, seeking to recreate the mood of the place portrayed. She also makes wood engravings, often using this ancient medium to depict the animals she encounters on her travels.

Her travels to China, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Vietnam & Cambodia, Madagascar, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, as well as Norway, Iceland, the Arctic and Antarctica, have engendered many hundreds of monotypes, each a single painting offset onto paper with the aid of a large Rochat etching press. The finely detailed wood engravings are printed on an 1876 Albion Press.

Jenny has also published a set of Sketchbooks of drawings from her travels.
